What is valve stem seal
The valve stem seal controls the lubrication of the valve stem when it slides in the valve guide. Insufficient oil volume can cause wear on valve stems and guides. Excessive fuel consumption can increase fuel consumption and may lead to carbon buildup, resulting in valve seat damage and early valve wear. Valve stem seal failure can increase fuel consumption.
Unlike other seals in the engine, valve stem seals play an important role in lubrication. The valve stem seal allows a certain amount of oil to lubricate the valve stem as it moves in the valve guide. The amount of oil passing through the valve stem seal must be precisely controlled. Too little oil can cause wear on the rod and conduit; Excessive oil can lead to carbon buildup, resulting in valve seat damage, reduced volumetric efficiency, increased emissions, catalytic converter degradation, and high fuel consumption.

● Sealing oil: prevents oil from flowing into the combustion chamber through the valve stem.
